Shield
Scarlet and white are the colors used for Engineers. The compass symbolizes reconnaissance and intelligence. The fretty alludes to the building of roads, floating bridges, landing strips, etc., and the sem of caltraps (a weapon used in early warfare to impede the enemy) to the construction and placement of deceptive devices.
Crest
The crest is that of the Florida Army National Guard.
The coat of arms was approved on 15 December 1966. It was rescinded on 27 December 1974.
